Ali Potter

I’m Ali, a professional Osteopath and Positive Psychology Health and Mindset coach and Pilates teacher. I treat from a lovely clinic in Felixstowe and am the creator of The Vitality Pathway program amongst other things.

My previous experience as a personal trainer means I have an in-depth understanding of the biomechanics of movement, muscle function, and the importance of building strength and flexibility to support the body. I can assess not only your current physical condition but also guide you in making the necessary lifestyle and movement changes to prevent future injuries. Through this perspective, I am able to provide tailored osteopathic treatments that complement and enhance your physical training goals.

As a Pilates teacher, I’ve been trained to work with controlled movements that focus on core stability, alignment, and posture—all of which are vital components in treating chronic pain and improving overall function. Pilates principles align perfectly with osteopathic techniques, and I incorporate them into my treatments to help you improve balance, strength, and flexibility in a safe and efficient manner. The combination of osteopathy and Pilates offers a powerful method for rehabilitating injuries, preventing new ones, and restoring optimal function to your body.

Moreover, my qualifications as a Positive Psychology health coach allow me to recognize and address the mental and emotional aspects of chronic pain. Pain is not just physical; it’s also deeply connected to mental and emotional states. I understand how stress, anxiety, and mindset can influence pain perception and recovery. By integrating psychology techniques into my practice, I can help you manage the psychological challenges that often accompany chronic pain, such as fear of movement, frustration, or negative thinking. This holistic approach allows for a more effective and sustainable recovery.

In summary, my unique combination of expertise as an osteopath, personal trainer, Pilates teacher, and psychology health coach allows me to offer a well-rounded, personalised treatment plan that targets both physical and mental aspects of health. Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, injury, or simply looking to improve your overall wellbeing, I can help you achieve lasting results that go beyond just treating the symptoms. With my approach, you’ll not only feel better but also be empowered with the knowledge and tools to take charge of your body and mind for long-term health and vitality.

Personally I have always been fairly active and fit, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but as we know in life, things don’t always go to plan. In July 2012, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34.

An emotional, scary roller coaster ensued. If it taught me anything, it’s to live each day to the maximum, and what really counts is being happy. So now I add cancer survivor to my list of achievements and use this mindset to help work with people’s attitudes to pain, health and fitness. Since this time, I have also dealt with Lyme disease and EBV and consequently have experience with chronic illness too.

My interests are varied from reading and painting through to skiing, yoga, paddleboarding, walking, gym-ing, and generally anything being outdoors, in open space, puts a smile on my face.
