Give Your Health A Boost
Are you struggling with not feeling great through the winter?
Are you worried about your immune system? Have you had a cold you just can’t shake? While we can’t directly boost our innate immune system, that’s all down to the fighter cells we have within our body, It does require balance and harmony in the body to function properly. We can, however, give our bodies the best chance of being super healthy and ready to fight whatever virus or bacteria comes along.
Here are just a few of my top total health boosting tips:
Get enough sleep and work on your sleep routine. Sleep is when your immune system boosts itself. When your body repairs and regenerates. So whatever you do, don’t scrimp on the sleep.
Eat more whole plant foods: These contain all the building blocks of nutrients that you need to keep healthy functioning.
Eat more healthy fats and less saturated fats: which helps to reduce inflammation and boost fatty acids.
Eat fermented foods or take a probiotic: This helps bolster your gut bacteria, which helps the immune system function.
Engage in moderate exercise: This is good for getting the blood pumping and the lymph system pumping, keeping your heart healthy and your muscles strong, and helping to maintain a good weight.
Stay hydrated: Water helps the body carry oxygen and nutrients around in the bloodstream. Vital for good health. So get drinking
and finally….
Manage stress: Along with sleep, this is probably one of the most important factors in helping our bodies function properly. Too much stress in our lives reduces the body’s ability to fight off antigens, making us more susceptible to infections.
Ways to do this include: taking quiet time every day, 5 or 10 mins sitting and deep breathing, listening to relaxing music, playing with a pet, journaling your stress and worries away… There are so many ways to reduce stress; just think about what might work for you.
I coach on all things health related so if you need to improve your sleep, reduce your stress, or just get moving more, send me a message and see how I can help.
